Equine Bodywork & Wellbeing…
Quiet, considered, horse-led care.
SOMETIME HORSES TELL US LONG BEFORE THEY SHOW US…
Through changes in movement, posture, expression, sensitivity or behaviour, horses are constantly communicating. Learning to recognise and respond to those subtle signals is at the heart of my work.
My approach is quiet, observational and guided by the horse.
Drawing on techniques from the Masterson Method®, Equine Acupressure, Equine Reiki, nervous system awareness and an understanding of equine anatomy and conformation, I work with both the physical body and energetic system while respecting each horse's boundaries, comfort and communication.
Every horse is different. Some welcome touch, while others need movement, stillness or space. Some soften into the work, while others communicate through the smallest changes in their body.
There is no forcing. Only listening.
Who This Work May Support...
Equine bodywork can offer gentle, individualised support for horses across different ages, disciplines and stages of life.
Sessions may be suitable for:
Horses experiencing physical tension, stiffness or restricted movement
Horses developing compensatory movement patterns
Horses showing changes in behaviour, sensitivity or difficulty settling
Horses experiencing stress or heightened reactivity
Performance and working horses
Retired and ageing horses
Horses receiving ongoing veterinary, rehabilitation or other bodywork care
Horses who would benefit from gentle, supportive bodywork and time to settle
You don't need to wait until something is noticeably wrong to explore bodywork for your horse. Sessions can also be part of a broader approach to maintaining comfort, mobility and wellbeing.
Where pain, lameness, injury or unexplained behavioural changes are present, veterinary assessment is important. Equine bodywork is complementary to veterinary care, not a replacement for diagnosis or treatment.

What to Expect…
Sessions generally take up to two hours, allowing time to work at your horse's pace without rushing or following a rigid sequence.
We begin with a conversation about your horse, including their history, your concerns, anything you've noticed in their movement or behaviour, and what you're hoping to explore through the session.
From there, I'll spend time observing your horse, paying attention to their posture, movement, expression and responses before introducing gentle hands-on work.
Throughout the session, I'm continually observing and responding to what your horse communicates. This might involve subtle changes in pressure, working in a different area, allowing movement or simply giving them time and space.
Some horses are curious and interactive, while others become quiet and still. There is no expectation that your horse must respond or release tension in any particular way.
Following your session, you'll receive a personalised written report.
Preparing for Your Horse's Session…
A familiar, quiet environment helps give your horse the opportunity to settle and participate comfortably.
Ideally, your horse should be in a safe yard, small enclosure or another suitable space where they can move freely or be gently secured when appropriate.
Owners are welcome to remain present throughout the session.
I also ask that unnecessary distractions, including feeding during the hands-on work, are minimised where appropriate. Your horse's individual feeding, medical and welfare needs will always take priority.
Please let me know before the session about any recent injuries, veterinary diagnoses, medications, changes in behaviour or other concerns that may affect how we work together.
There Is No Forcing. Only Listening…If you'd like to ask a question or discuss your horse's needs prior to booking, please email Chrissie at energy.nirvana@gmail.com
